Structure
The entire ambience is filled with lush green garden with fountains, temple, flowery bushes,
green grass and tall trees. Apart from this, Sukhadia memorial is built in memory of Late Shree
Mohanlal Sukhadia. The atmosphere here is so much beautiful that it mesmerizes every person
who visits it. It attracts even more as the food stalls outside this place are available. Pav Bhaji,
Pani puri, Chinese stalls and many more mouth-watering food stalls are there which tempts many
tourists.
History/Story
Built in the Memory of Late Shree Mohanlal Sukhadia, Ex-Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Mohan Lal Sukhadia was an Indian politician, who served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan state for 17 years (1954-1971). He became chief minister at age 38 and was responsible for bringing major reforms and developments in Rajasthan. For this, he is still widely revered as the “founder of modern Rajasthan”. Major credit for deploying stability and institutionalization in Congress party goes to leadership abilities and political skills of Mohanlal Sukhadia.
Serving on the post of Chief Minister for almost two decades clearly denotes the kind of support, affection and honour Sukahdia enjoyed from his party members and public. There is an immense contribution of Shree Mohanlal Sukhadia in developing Udaipur. There is the Mohanlal Sukhadia University in memory of him. It is a State University established by an Act in the year 1962 to cater the needs of higher education in Southern Rajasthan with more then 2.25 Lakh Students. The University is located in Aravalli Hill Area largely dominated by tribal populations.
